Inchicore Primary Care Centre

9,500 sq. m primary care centre

RKD was engaged by the HSE in January 2007 to design the new Inchicore Primary Care Centre on the site of the former St. Michaels CBS in St. Michaels Estate, Inchicore, Dublin 8.

The new health centre cleverly incorporates the 18th Century former barracks and school building into a 21st century state-of-the-art healthcare facility and is one of the first projects to be completed at part of the wider St. Michael’s Estate regeneration plan in partnership with Dublin City Council.

The building accommodates GP, Dental, Addiction, Physiotherapy, Mental Health, Social Work, Community Nursing and Community Welfare services. A 73-space underground car park is provided to service the Primary Care Centre.

RKD has also masterplanned the overall St. Michaels CBS Site to provide for a 50-bed Community Nursing Unit, 2 no. five-a-side football pitches, an Elderly Gym and new Community Heritage Facilities. The Primary Care Centre was completed June 2010.

The Inchicore Primary Care Centre project was one of the first projects in Ireland to use the new Government form of contract for consultancy services.

Over the past year RKD has developed an extensive knowledge of the new contract forms which can assist the smooth running of any publicly procured project.
