8,000 sq. m audiology, swallowing & speech-language pathology unit

The Department of Communication and Swallowing Disorders at KFMC will be relocated to the new building adjacent to the existing Rehabilitation Hospital where the unit is currently located. The space evacuated in the Rehab Hosp will in return be utilized for expansion of the Rehabilitation Hospital. The new building will accommodate three main services units: Audiology Unit, Swallowing Unit and Speech-Language Pathology Unit.

Main services provided are:

Audiology Unit:
Hearing aids, BAHA, Cochlear Implant, Oncology, High Risk Neonate, Down syndrome and other morphologies, Daily outpatient services, Urgent inpatient services, and VNG

Speech-Language Pathology unit:
Adult Speech-Language Pathology and Paediatric Speech-Language

Pathology Paediatric team covers the following:
Autism program, Family counselling, Craniofacial anomalies, and a Cerebral Palsy Program
