Bloomfield Care Centre

Bloomfield Care Centre is a 150-bed care facility located on Stocking Lane in Rathfarnham. This new-build project was completed in two phases.

Phase 1 consisted of a 72-bed care facility of 4,400 sq. m., completed in December 2004.

Phase 2 comprised a new 78-bed Day Centre extension providing new patient and staff accommodation, medical treatment and support areas, ancillary facilities and 38 undercroft parking spaces, totalling 5,750 sq. m. There is also a separate service block with new heating boilers, standby generator and maintenance accommodation. Phase 2 was completed in March 2009.

A key feature of the complex is the extensively landscaped grounds that provide patients and staff with recreational outdoor facilities including woodland walks and croquet lawns. The courtyard design of the facility allows for users to continuously have a connection with the outdoor facilities.

RKD has also designed a new meeting house to replace the existing premises in Donnybrook.
