Gravity Bar at Guinness Storehouse
360° panoramic views over Dublin city
Located on the seventh floor of the refurbished Guinness Storehouse, Gravity Bar is a new fully-glazed circular structure that sits on top of the original industrial building. Taking advantage of the height of the massive former fermentation house, visitors to Gravity Bar can enjoy the stunning 360-degree vista that embraces all of Dublin, from mountains to the sea, while enjoying a pint of the famous stout.
Such uninterrupted and breathtaking views are prioritised through steel frame construction with floor to ceiling glass walls. Access is by a glazed lift, which rises up through the centre of the Storehouse building and separates the old from the new. Gravity’s interiors are designed to be simple and soothing, allowing the views to leave an overwhelming impression on visitors. Simple white oak flooring is used throughout. The bar counter is curved to mimic the shape of the structure itself, it is glass fronted with a black granite bar top. Trim and supports are stainless steel.
Furniture is chosen to be comfortable, yet minimalist in style. Comfortable casual seating comprises dark blue upholstered curvaceous Arne Jacobsen “Swan” chairs around low circular tables with mirrored glass tabletops and classic Fritz Hansen bases. The overall effect brings a light and sophisticated atmosphere to the bar that enjoys the title of ‘Dublin’s highest’.
