RKD has been appointed to the BAM design panel for the Netherlands National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).

The selection was made by BAM on account of RKD’s specialist laboratory and pharmaceutical expertise. RKD will provide BAM with specialist expertise as part of an international multi-disciplinary team to develop a design to suit the new 60,000 sq. m. facility which will also include 17,000 sq. m. of laboratories including an extensive suite of BSL3 laboratories.

RIVM conducts research, advises on policy and helps to implement that policy with a view to promoting public health and maintaining a safe and clean environment. The organization has some thirty separate units (laboratories, teams and centres), each of which focuses on a specific area of research, with a total of approximately 1,500 staff.
